Each year, the Memphis in May festival celebrates a different country. 2008 featured Turkey, and the Splendors of Turkey show at the Orpheum Theatre featured Turkish quartets, whirling dervishes, and the fabulous BabaZula from Istanbul. Dancers from Memphis Raqs and Desert Rose Dance were invited to dance with Baba Zula during their show to represent Memphis local artists!

Our March Student Salon and hafla was held at Raffe's Beer Garden - a chance for our ladies to show off their stuff to friends and family, so they can finally see what it is that we are doing when we disappear each week!
