Although our main goal is not to get every student on a stage, we recognize that performance is one of the most fun elements of taking a dance class!  In gaining performance experience, students grow in their self confidence as well as their confidence in dancing as a cohesive group.  All of our students are given the opportunity to perform in front of small audiences of friends and family at non-professional events.

Lee

50-something, Nutitionist, bellydancing since 2003

I started belly dancing about 3 or 4 years ago with a couple of friends from work. Loved it!! Couldn’t do lots of the steps well, having never been a dancer, but had loads of fun trying. It was tribal-style teaching and costuming, which I loved, too. I don’t like the sequins and spangles as much, and I liked the improvisational dancing as a group - although I am not particularly good at that either! But it is still fun. Over time, I’ve learned to do some things better. This is the most fun I've ever had exercising. I have found new abdominal muscles I never knew I had, reduced my back pain, and .....where else can you buy pretty swirly skirts and jingly hip scarfs to go exercise in?

Nilaja

30, Family Nurse Practitioner

"I love bellydance because it is sensual, exotic, empowering and liberating. It is the best thing that could have ever been developed for women! It has helped me tone my body in just the right areas. It has made me more aware of each and every aspect of being a woman. I love it because it makes me feel beautiful!"

Anna

Physical Therapist

Ever since I started the tribal bellydance I got more mobility and flexibility in my spine and chest. I would rather do bellydance than a regular aerobic class!
